Timothy Alan Dick was born on June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, USA, to Gerald and Martha. His father worked as a real estate agent, and his mother did community service. Allen adored his father and remembers him for his wonderful sense of humour.

Allen’s father died in a car accident when he was only 11 years old, leaving him devastated. His mother married a friend two years after his father died. He and his family were forced to relocate to Birmingham, Michigan.

In Birmingham, he attended ‘Ernest W. Seaholm High School.’ For the first time, he pursued his interest in acting here. He later transferred to ‘Western Michigan University’ after attending ‘Central Michigan University.’
