Keysearch Review – Scam or Legit?

Keysearch Review cover

This is my review of Keysearch, an all-in-one keyword research, SEO analysis and difficulty testing tool that is a much cheaper alternative to Ahrefs, SEMrush and Moz SEO software.

As internet marketers, we are always looking for that one SEO tool that can make all the difference.

That one tool that sets us apart from the competition and gives us an edge.

Ahrefs is one of those tools. It is one of the best (if not the best) SEO tools on the market.

It has dozens of features, from keyword research to backlink analysis to keyword ranking tracking.

Ahrefs is not suitable for bloggers like you and me.

And why?

Because the prices can soon cut into our profits.

Unlike a marketing agency or a large corporation, bloggers like you and me do not need to use an SEO tool every day.

Instead, we need to focus on publishing great content and building an audience.

While SEO plays a big role in growing a blog, it’s not something you can spend a lot of time on as a blogger (or solopreneur) when you are just starting out.

Paying $99 per month for just is not worth it.

That’s why a few months ago I set out to find an alternative to Ahrefs that was just as good as Ahrefs (if not better).

For me to call a tool an Ahrefs alternative, it had to be an inexpensive Ahrefs alternative with as many features as Ahrefs (if not more).

In my search, I came across dozens of SEO tools and software. Some were good, others are not even worth mentioning.

That’s when I came across Keysearch.

Keysearch is now the SEO tool I use for all my websites.

Here I will tell you the good and the bad of Keysearch and how it compares to the big giants like Ahrefs (but also SEMrush, Majestic, Moz and Mangools).

What is Keysearch?

Keysearch is an all-in-one SEO tool with keyword, SERP and competitor research and analysis, keyword rank check, backlink analysis and much more.

Keysearch helps you discover hidden keywords that are easy to rank for, while giving you all the tools you need to spy on your competitors and track your SEO efforts.

Keysearch is a much cheaper alternative to Ahrefs. For only $17 per month, you get 200 daily search and analysis credits.

This tool has dozens of features like:

  • Keyword research
  • Backlink analysis
  • Keyword & SERP difficulty testing
  • Keyword rank tracking
  • YouTube keyword research
  • Competitor analysis
  • Backlink Finder
  • Chrome/Firefox extension
  • API access
  • White-label reporting and much more

We will explain each of these features in more detail in the following sections:

Keyword Research

Keysearch provides a beginner-friendly interface for keyword research. It not only allows you to find the best keywords (using the Keyword Research Tool).

You can also quickly check the difficulty level of the keywords you want to target (with the Quick Difficulty Tool):

Keyword Research Tool

Create New Post

Keysearch’s keyword research tool allows you to measure the difficulty of a keyword and see who ranks on the first page.

With this tool, you can check whether or not you should target a keyword based on its difficulty level. This can save you a lot of time and money when writing content.

What I like most about this tool is that it displays all the important details you need to consider about a keyword before you target it in one simple box.

This tool also provides you with hundreds of suggestions for keywords to consider.

These keyword suggestions are displayed with both their volume and difficulty level. If you click on one of the suggested keywords, you can view a full analysis of the keyword.

Another thing I really like and find helpful is the search results table of this tool.

The table shows you a matrix with all the important SEO metrics that you need to consider for the websites that are on the first page.

This will give you a quick overview of who ranks for what keyword and in what position.

The only thing I do not like about this table is that it does not show you the titles of the pages that rank for the search term.

It does show you if a page has the keyword in the title, but it does not tell you what the title actually is.

To check the title of the page, you need to either search Google for the keyword or visit the URL of the page.

This tool also displays the search engine suggestions that appear at the bottom of the search results pages:

This will help you identify the keywords people use to search for similar things. Do not ignore these suggestions. These are the long-tail keywords that you should include in your content.

This tool also allows you to export a CSV or PDF file that contains details about the keyword, such as search volume, difficulty level, and all the websites that are on the first page.

It allows you to get keyword data and suggestions from Google Adwords Keyword Planner, YouTube Suggest, Bing Suggest, Keysearch Database and many others.

Quick Difficulty Checker Tool

This tool is a huge time saver. Instead of checking the difficulty and volume of a keyword one by one, you can use this tool to check the difficulty of up to 50 keywords at once.

Also, you can export the keywords to a CSV file along with their search volume and other details.

Link analysis

The backlink checker tool is one of the most important parts of any SEO tool. Keysearch’s backlink analysis tool has a lot of great features.

You can use it to check the backlinks of the entire domain or just a specific page.

This tool provides a metric called Domain Strength that you can use to assess the quality of a website. This is a good metric to check if you are looking for high quality websites to publish guest posts on or get a link from:

You can also get an overview of link building trends over the last 12 months for the domain or page you are reviewing. This will help you determine how difficult it will be to outrank a domain or page.

You can easily filter backlinks by several criteria, such as the number of links, the strength of the domain, the link source, and the type of link (dofollow or nofollow).

With this tool you can display 50, 100, 250, 1000 or all backlinks at once. It also allows you to export the backlinks of a specific website or page.

What I do not like about this export feature is that it only exports all backlinks if you display all backlinks in your browser.

Not only is this memory intensive, but it can also cause your browser to stop working.

The backlinks of a particular page or website are displayed in a table, along with the metrics and details such as anchor text, domain strength (Keysearch’s custom metric), number of inbound links and whether the link is dofollow or not:

Youtube research

If you are a YouTuber, you will love this tool. It allows you to find the best keywords to target and the amount of competition for a given keyword.

This tool looks just like the Keyword Analysis tool. It comes with a table, just like the Keyword Analysis tool does.

The table shows the URLs of the videos along with important metrics like age of the video, views, likes, dislikes, comments and whether or not the keyword is included in the title and description.

Just like the Keyword Analysis Tool, the only thing I do not like is that the spreadsheet does not show the title of the page in addition to the URL.

You either have to manually search Google for the keyword or, in this case, open each individual video to check its title.

This tool, much like the Keyword Analysis Tool, provides a box on the right side of the page with suggestions for keywords that might work for you.

Just like the Keyword Research tool, there is also a quick difficulty checker for YouTube. This allows you to check the difficulty and other metrics of up to 50 keywords at once.

Keyword Rank Tracker Tool

Keyword Rank Tracking is an amazing tool from Keysearch that allows you to check whether your SEO efforts are successful or not. It allows you to track the position of your website for a specific keyword.

This is very useful when you start a new link building campaign. With this tool, you can easily determine which SEO tactics are working for your website and industry and which are not.

You can set up email notifications so that you receive an email from the tool whenever your search engine ranking changes for a particular keyword.

Once you add a keyword to the tool, it generates a chart with all the previous ranking positions since the day you added the keyword:

This tool is great if you are doing SEO work for clients. You can easily send reports to your clients about whether your SEO efforts were successful or not.

Unlike other rank tracking tools I have used in the past, the interface of this tool is a bit different and a bit more complex to understand. Once you understand how it works, you will not have any problems with it.

Browser addon

The browser add-on allows you to analyze Keyword Difficulty directly from your browser.

Once you install the browser extension, you will see the keyword difficulty and the search results matrix table with all the important metrics about the pages that show up in the search results.

This can save you a lot of time. You may stumble upon keywords in your niche through Google.

Instead of logging into your Keysearch account, you can see the keyword difficulty and important metrics about the search results without leaving the site.

One thing I would find helpful is if the extension also showed the search volume for the keyword.

Keysearch Review: Final Verdict

Keysearch is perfect for those who, like me, are looking for a cheaper Ahrefs alternative.

It has dozens of features. Even though it does not offer as many features as Ahrefs, you should not neglect this tool.

Whether you are just starting out or running an entire marketing agency, this tool will help you get great results.

If you are not an agency or a business, tools like Ahrefs are not the right choice. If you are just starting out, you probably will not even find the time to try out most of the features offered by Ahrefs.

In most cases, it’s just a waste of money to use SEO software that you do not even use that often.

Keysearch is not only a cheaper version of Ahrefs, but it offers you everything you will need in your blogging journey. It helps you analyze the competition and find keywords that you can easily rank for.

While I would not say that Keysearch is a better alternative to Ahrefs, it is an alternative that you can use to get great search engine optimization results for your business.
