Career: His Rise as a Gamer on Social Media

DreamWasTaken got his start in social media as a gamer. On YouTube and other platforms, he primarily creates Minecraft playthroughs and commentary videos.

He rose to prominence through his YouTube channel, Dream. On February 8, 2014, he launched the channel. It has now surpassed 6.75 million subscribers and 584 thousand views. He also worked with BadBoyHalo on his Minecraft videos on YouTube.

His videos can also be found on two other YouTube channels. Dream Team, which debuted on November 14, 2019, describes itself as a “channel for Dream and his friends…” It has approximately 736 subscribers and more than 12 million views. The second, DreamXD, debuted on August 22, 2019, and has over 1 million subscribers and over 37 million views. Both of these channels are promoted by DreamWasTaken’s main channel.

Dream’s early YouTube content primarily consisted of vlogs and random videos with friends. His video game obsession influenced his later Minecraft videos. Dream used to spend up to 8 hours a day playing Minecraft in middle school. He had to study more and play less Minecraft over the years. He did, however, make it a point to devote time to the game on a daily basis.

Dream’s coding experience enabled him to create unique Minecraft challenges that other creators could not. In just 6 months, his channel gained 5 million followers. On August 1, 2020, he announced on Twitter that he will not copyright any reaction or highlight videos of his content as long as proper credit is given.

Dream, on the other hand, refuses to show his face in his videos and live streams. Dream appeared as his gaming avatar in an online interview with Butch Hartman. Fans recognize him by his unusual laugh.

Dream’s first video, 1000 subs, was released on July 13, 2014. Dream was involved in a project to locate PewDiePie’s Minecraft world seed. Aside from creating the Unsolved series and survival challenges, he started the Minecraft Manhunt YouTube trend. MunchyMC, BadBoyHalo’s Minecraft server, is co-owned by him.

He is equally well-liked on Facebook. More than 1.3 thousand people have liked his Facebook page, and he has over 2.3 thousand followers. He started his Twitter account, DreamWasTaken, in August 2010 and now has over 419 thousand followers. He is dreamrepublic on Snapchat.

Despite not having many posts, his Instagram account, dreamwastaken, has more than 293 thousand followers. On Instagram, he has shared a few photos of his pet cat, Patches.

On July 22, 2020, he posted a photo of himself wearing a hoodie but hiding his face. His fans believe this is a foreshadowing of a “face reveal.”

On dreams.is, he sells his own brand of merchandise, such as T-shirts, hoodies, backpacks, mugs, and phone cases. Dreamwastaken, his Twitch account, has over 563 thousand followers.

On August 4, 2020, Dream promised to reveal his face (while wearing a mask) if his “tweet” received 50,000 “retweets” in a week. When he realized that people could “retweet” it more than once, he increased the goal to 100,000 “retweets.”

Relationships: Is Dream Dating Someone?

Though some fans believe Dream and his girlfriend have broken up, the majority believe Dream is gay and is in a relationship with his friend and Minecraft video collaborator, GeorgeNotFound. Dream and George collaborate frequently, but they did not meet in person until July 13, 2020.

Dream gave George flowers and continued to try to get George to say “I love you” in Beating Minecraft with One Inventory Slot… Dream gave George $5,000 to spend on Amazon in November 2019. The sum was significantly greater than what he had given to his other friends, Sapnap and BadBoyHalo.

On the first of April, 2020. George announced on Twitter that he and Dream were getting married. However, George later “tweeted” jokingly that the wedding had been called off. George responded to one of Dream’s “tweets” near the start of Pride Month with “Love you Dream.”

Dream deactivated his second Twitter page in July 2020 in protest of George’s flirtatious behavior with Maia (mxmtoon). The whole thing turned out to be a joke, but rumors about George and Dream dating resurfaced with renewed vigor. Their fans have already begun to refer to them as “DreamNotFound.”
