Childhood & Early Life

Deadmau5 was born Joel Thomas Zimmerman on January 5, 1981 in Ontario, Canada to visual artist Nancy and General Motors plant worker Rodney Thomas Zimmerman. Jennifer is his older sister, and Chris is his younger brother.
