Career

CarryMinati became interested in YouTube at the age of eight after watching football videos on the platform. He created his first YouTube channel, titled ‘STeaLThFeArzZ,’ at the age of ten, and posted nearly two dozen videos, mostly about football tricks and tutorials. Due to the low viewer response, he later created another channel, ‘AddictedA1,’ on October 30, 2014, and began posting gameplay videos with entertaining commentaries mimicking the voices of Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Sunny Deol.

In 2015, he changed the channel name to ‘CarryDeol,’ and was able to attract more viewers, thanks in part to the ‘Counter Strike’ community, which shared his content. However, he became bored after about six months and decided to evolve his channel, which occurred after he discovered the YouTuber ‘Leafyishere,’ whose idea of gameplay roast videos he then implemented in his own videos.

After becoming more popular, he renamed the channel ‘CarryMinati.’ ‘Making Money with BB Ki Vines,’ posted on June 21, 2016, was one of his first viral videos, in which he roasted people who uploaded videos of themselves reacting to popular YouTuber Bhuvan Bam. In 2017, he received the gold play button from YouTube for reaching 1 million subscribers, and the following year, he launched a second channel, ‘CarryIsLive,’ to live-stream gaming videos, primarily PUBG. He received one million likes for the first time in early 2019 after posting the diss track ‘Bye PewDiePie,’ in response to Felix Kjellberg a.k.a. PewDiePie mocking an Indian’s broken English.

Roast King of India

While Ajey Nagar has experimented with various types of content over the years, such as gameplay videos, diss tracks, parodies, and comedy sketches, it is his roasting videos that distinguish him from the competition. In those videos, he has criticized several people, which has sparked controversy. He was struck twice on his YouTube channel, once by local Haryanvi singer Bheem Narula, who demanded a large sum to remove the strike, and once by the owner of the YouTube channel ‘MovieTalkies.’ While his channel now includes a ‘Copyright Disclaimer,’ his primary content type has remained roasting people, shows, trends, and so on that he finds worthy of criticism.

He recently posted a video titled ‘YOUTUBE VS TIK TOK: THE END’ roasting popular TikTok user Amir Siddiqui in the midst of the ongoing feud between the two video-sharing platforms, YouTube and TikTok, which began after some YouTubers began reacting to cringeworthy TikTok videos.

He slammed Siddiqui for his now-deleted IGTV video in which he labeled YouTubers as unoriginal and money-hungry while attempting to be self-righteous. The video, which quickly became the most liked and commented on Indian video on the platform, earned him over 1.3 million new subscribers in a single day, as well as praise from the community.

Family & Personal Life

CarryMinati was born on June 12, 1999, in Faridabad, Haryana, a major satellite city of India’s capital, New Delhi. He comes from a Gurjar family and has a brother. He attended Delhi Public School but dropped a year in the 12th grade with his parents’ permission because he was nervous about his economics test during his Class XII Board examination.

He later completed his senior secondary education through distance learning. He played football until the eighth grade, but stopped after receiving a PS3, after which he became interested in video games and even considered pursuing a career in game design. He was overweight as a teenager and has lost weight through strict exercise and diet control after experiencing health issues. He has established his studio in a wing of his Faridabad home.
